Trustees of Kgolo Trust
The four trustees of the Kgolo Trust are all prominent figures in the South African media.

Paula Fray (Chair of the trust)
Former editor of the Saturday Star and now an independent Media trainer for the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism (IAJ) and various other media institutions. Investigative journalist of the year (1991), a Nieman Fellow, and named as one of SA's top young women by both Cosmopolitan and Elle magazines.

Kgolo trustee Justice Malala, left, hands over R19 000 worth of equipment to Queen Mkhondwane and Thabo Hadebe, owners of the Phumelela Express, a community-based newspaper in the Eastern Free State. These young publishers print a thousand copies per month and and sell them in the local towns of Vrede, Memel, Warden and Roadside. Kgolo provided the Phumelela Express with their computer hardware and the software for newspaper makeup and design

Justice Malala
Founding editor of ThisDay newspaper, and former New York and London correspondent for the Sunday Times. Foreign Correspondents' Association Award for Outstanding Journalism (1997). Author of an award-winning novel, Before the Rains Come.

Dr Don Mattera
Award-winning South African poet, playwright, journalist and community activist with a particular interest in youth upliftment. Involved with some 143 community organisations, counselling street children, gangsters and ex-prisoners.

Yacoob Abba Omar
South African ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman. Former deputy CEO of Government Communication and Information Systems. Helped develop government's international marketing, anti-corruption and African Renaissance strategies.
